The sticks on the Xbox Series X|S controller and the Elite Series 2 measure their position with potentiometers<\/strong>: a metal contact that rubs against a track. After many hours of play, that track wears down or gets dirty, the centre reading changes and the controller sends movement even when you are not touching the stick. That is stick drift<\/strong>: your character walks on its own, the camera slowly turns or the cursor jumps around in the menus.<\/p>\n A restart or an update will not fix it, and adjusting the in-game deadzone only hides it while it is mild. If the part is worn out, the drift comes back.<\/p>\n The sticks we fit are TMR<\/strong> (tunnel magnetoresistance): they read the position with a magnet and a sensor, with no contact<\/strong>. With no rubbing, they do not suffer the wear that causes drift in standard sticks.
