Calibrate PS5 and PS4 controller joysticks online
Recalibrate the centre and range of the sticks on your DualSense, DualSense Edge or DualShock 4 straight from your browser, with nothing to install. You need a computer with Chrome, Edge or Opera and the controller connected by USB cable.

Before you start
- The tool writes the calibration to the controller's memory. Use it at your own risk: we can't guarantee the result on every controller.
- The new calibration stays temporary until you press “Save permanently”. Before saving you can discard it by restarting the controller.
- Don't disconnect the controller or close the page while it's calibrating or saving.
- Battery: the internal battery must be connected and above 30 % charge. If the controller switches off while writing to its memory, it can become unusable. The tool won't calibrate or save with less charge or if it can't read the battery.
- Calibrating doesn't fix drift: if a stick is worn, recalibrating can hide it for a while, but the drift comes back. If it comes back, the stick is probably worn. Check for drift with the controller test · joystick repair
- Xbox controllers: they can't be calibrated with this tool.
Terms of use
Experimental tool at no cost, provided as is: no guarantee of results or of compatibility with every controller, computer or browser. It is not an official Sony tool.
You use it at your own risk. To the extent permitted by law, Tigernicks is not liable for damage to the controller, the computer or its data arising from its use, in particular damage caused by connection or battery interruptions while writing, by non-genuine, modified or faulty controllers, or by not following the instructions.
Changing the calibration may affect the warranty offered by the controller's manufacturer. If you are under 18, use the tool with an adult. Before connecting the controller you will have to confirm each of the requirements; before saving, you will be asked to confirm again.
Using the tool does not involve any repair service or its warranty. Nothing above limits the rights the law gives you as a consumer.
You need a USB data cable and a charged controller. The browser will ask you to choose the controller from a list.
Stick centre
Put the controller on the table and let go of both sticks. Don't touch them while samples are taken.
Stick range
When you press “Start”, rotate both sticks slowly around the edge, pushing against the stop: at least two turns one way and two the other.
Check and decide
The new calibration is already working, but temporarily: if you restart or disconnect the controller, the previous one comes back. Move the sticks and check that the dot returns to the centre and reaches the edge.
Calibration not possible
Designed for controllers with magnetic TMR sticks fitted in the workshop: after fitting, it's worth calibrating the centre and the range. Then check for drift with the controller test.
Everything happens between your browser and the controller: we don't store or send any data.

How to calibrate the joysticks
Connect by cable
Connect the controller to your computer with a USB data cable and open this page in Chrome, Edge or Opera.
Calibrate the centre
Release both sticks and let the tool take several samples of the resting point.
Calibrate the range
Slowly rotate both sticks around the edge, for several turns, so the tool records their full range.
Check and save
Try the result in the controller test. If you’re happy with it, save it permanently.
Temporary or permanent
The calibration is first saved temporarily: the controller uses it until you restart it, and after a restart it goes back to the previous calibration. It is only stored in the controller if you press “Save permanently”. That way you can try it first and discard it if you’re not happy.
The tool writes to the controller’s memory, so read the warning and follow the steps carefully. On the DualSense Edge, only temporary calibration can be used. If the controller looks like an imitation, calibration is blocked.
When it helps and when it doesn’t
- Adjusting the centre and range after replacing the sticks, for example with magnetic sticks
- Correcting a slightly off-centre position that isn’t caused by wear
- Restoring the full circle if the stick wasn’t reaching the edges
- A worn stick: calibration can hide stick drift for a while, but it comes back
- Buttons, triggers or other faults
- Xbox controllers: this tool doesn’t support them
If the drift comes back after calibrating, the stick is worn out. See why your controller has stick drift and our controller repair.
Frequently asked questions
Which controllers can be calibrated?
The PS4 DualShock 4 (both versions), the PS5 DualSense and the DualSense Edge, the latter with temporary calibration only. Xbox controllers can’t be calibrated.
Does it work on a phone or over Bluetooth?
No. You need a computer with Chrome, Edge or Opera and the controller connected by USB cable. On a phone, you can use the online controller test to check for stick drift.
Does calibrating fix stick drift?
Only if the centre is off and the stick isn’t worn. If wear is causing the drift, calibration hides it for a while and it comes back. We explain it in how to calibrate a PS5, PS4 and Xbox controller.
Can I undo the calibration?
Yes, as long as you haven’t saved it permanently: restart the controller and it goes back to the previous calibration.
Do you store any data from my controller?
No. Everything happens in your browser; we don’t store or send anything.
