Why your Xbox controller has stick drift
The sticks on the Xbox Series X|S controller and the Elite Series 2 measure their position with potentiometers: a metal contact that rubs against a track. After many hours of play, that track wears down or gets dirty, the centre reading shifts and the controller sends movement even when you aren’t touching the stick. It is the most common cause of stick drift, and a restart or an update won’t fix it.

The repair: TMR magnetic sticks

- They are TMR sticks (tunnel magnetoresistance): they read the position with a magnet and a sensor, without contact, so they don’t suffer the friction wear that causes stick drift
- We test the whole controller before returning it to you
- €30 per controller, with a 3-month repair warranty
- We don’t replace the sticks with other original ones: it’s the same part that has already worn out
- For now we only repair stick drift: if your controller has another fault, ask us on WhatsApp before bringing it in

Do you repair the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller?
Yes. We also fit magnetic sticks to the Elite Series 2, at the same price as for the Xbox Series X|S controller.
What about the Xbox One controller or other models?
Right now we work with Xbox Series X|S and Elite Series 2 controllers. If you have another model, ask us on WhatsApp before bringing it in.
Why don’t you replace the stick with an original one?
Because the original uses the same technology that has already worn out: with use, the stick drift comes back. Magnetic sticks read the position without contact, so they don’t have that friction wear.
Does calibrating the controller get rid of stick drift?
