PS4 Controller Not Charging: Charging Port Replacement

The DualShock 4 charges through a micro-USB port. Over time, plugging and unplugging the cable every day loosens it or breaks it inside, and the controller stops charging. The typical signs:

• The controller won’t charge and the light bar doesn’t come on when you plug it in.
• It only charges if you hold or tilt the cable.
• The cable fits loosely or falls out on its own.
• Charging keeps cutting out and starting again.

Before you bring it in, try another micro-USB cable and another charger: sometimes the cable is the problem. If it’s the same with several, it’s the port.

• A new micro-USB charging port fitted to your DualShock 4.
• A charging test and a full test of the controller before we return it to you.
• 3 months’ repair warranty.

If you send us your controller, you arrange and pay for the shipping both ways yourself, with the carrier of your choice. We accept controllers from any country.

2. We repair it. We replace the port and confirm the timescale once we’ve inspected it.
3. We test it and let you know so you can collect it or arrange its return.

How much does it cost to fix the charging port on a PS4 controller?

What if it isn’t the port?

We check it when we receive it. If the cause is something else, we’ll tell you and give you a no-obligation quote before doing anything.
